‘White Clad’ to vie at Clermont-Ferrand film festival

Iranian ‘White Clad’ is to vie at the Clermont-Ferrand Int’l Short Film Festival in France.

Iranian short flick ‘White Clad’ has been set to compete at the 43rd Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that ‘White Clad’, written and directed by Reza Fahimi, will take part in the French festival’s International Competition section.

The film is about an old woman who gives a block of local cheese she has made to Ahmad, a 10-year-old boy, in order to give it to his father, who is a teacher in the village, so the father can mediate and stop the execution of her young son.

The participation of ‘White Clad’ in the French event marks its international premiere.

The Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival is “the world's largest film festival dedicated to short films”, the event’s website reads.

“In term of audience and professional presence, it is the second largest film festival in France after Cannes.”

The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on January 29–February 6, 2021.
